Come celebrate the Stillwater Fire Department’s 150th birthday this fall

The Stillwater Fire Department is planning a birthday bash like no other!

Volunteers are celebrating the department’s 150th birthday this fall, and they’re inviting the entire community.

“It’s going to be a great birthday party” said Department President Tracey Pommer.

On Saturday, September 26th, the event will start with a parade and end with fireworks. The parade will begin at 1 p.m. sharp, from the Stillwater School grounds down Hudson Avenue It will end at the American Legion Post No. 490 (Lake Street.) field, where participation plaques will be handed out.

Field activites will begin at 11 a.m. with rides provided by Amyland Amusement, including a clown for the young ones. Caribbean Coolers will have several tents with food and drinks available. The Sons of the American Legion will also be selling food items as well.

Larry Grayson from DJ Express will be there from 2-4 p.m., followed by a performance from the band Skeeter Creek from 4-8 p.m. Fireworks by the Santore Brothers will follow.

The parade will include Stillwater and other fire departments, along with the Stillwater High School Band and other community groups.

“We’re also reaching out to the Stillwater Community Center for their sports programs and the Boys/Girls Scouts to march with us,” President Pommer said. “We are looking forward to September. It’s going to be a day for all to enjoy.”
