The Stillwater Fire Department has elected line officers and administrative officer for 2017. The officers were sworn in by Mayor Rick Nelson at the April Board of Trustees monthly meeting. The 2017 officers are as follows:

Line Officers

Chief Jeff Mahar, First Assistant Chief Toni Conti, Second Assistant Chief Jeri Mehan, Captain Joseph Fitzpatrick Sr., Lieutenants Joseph Fitzpatrick Jr. and Ronald Minor.

Administrative Officers

President Tracey Pommer, Vice President Amy VanArnum, Secretary Jeri Mehan, Treasurer Bill Mehan, Trustee Matt Mehan and Steward Tracey Pommer.

In other business April 18, the Board of Trustees set May 16, at 7 p.m., as a “conditional” public hearing date for a proposal by Capital District Ventures to build 24 condominiums at 950 Hudson Ave., site of the former American Linens plant.

The hearing will only be held if the developer’s formal application for a special use permit is completed, Mayor Nelson said. The village still waiting for answers to various question the village engineer and trustees have about the proposal.

Capital District Ventures purchased the vacant property from long-time owner Camelot Associates and would like to build two- and three-bedroom luxury condos listing for $179,900 to $199,900. An earlier proposal from Camelot to build 40 luxury apartments there was rejected by Trustees last year.

The new developer introduced the condo proposal to the board in February.
