Village purchases and installs emergency backup generator for government complex

The village has purchased and installed a new Generac automatic standby generator at the Village Hall and Fire Department complex.

The generator will power the fire department, Village Clerk’s, Mayor’s offices, and Village Board room in case of a power outage.

This is a welcome and much needed addition to maintain operations if there is a loss of power. Also, this will enable the village complex to become an EOC (Emergency Operation Center) if a village emergency occurs and power is lost elsewhere in Stillwater.

After more than a year of discussion and planning, the Village Board of Trustees approved the generator purchase at its April meeting. The total cost of the generator, parts and installation would not exceed $8,300.
