The Stillwater Board of Trustees has approved a $1.75 million village budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year, which carries a small property tax increase of 5 cents per $1,000 assessed value from the current fiscal year.
The village property tax rate will increase from $4.10 to $4.15 per $1,000 of assessed value in 2025-26. It is the first property tax increase for the village in eight years.
Trustees held a public hearing on the proposed budget and approved the document at a meeting on March 18, 2025. The new budget will go into effect on June 1, 2025 and runs through May 31, 2026.
