The Village of Stillwater is ushering in the new year with two new representatives on the Board of Trustees.
Jeffrey Stewart was elected Trustee during the general elections last November for a one-year term, replacing James G. Doyle who did not seek re-election. Stewart ran unopposed for the Trustee seat and will serve through 2025.
Sue Cunningham was appointed Trustee in December to fill a vacancy on the Village Board left by the November resignation of Sheila Nett. This seat will also be up for election in November, 2025. Cunningham is a lifelong Stillwater resident and former Stillwater Town Clerk for 14 years, retiring in 2024. She also served as the administrator to Brown’s Beach, the Stillwater Blockhouse and various town parks. She is active in the community organizing such events as the longstanding and popular Frost Faire at Saratoga National Historical Park.
There are four Trustees serving on the Village Board with Mayor Judith Wood Zeno. Stewart and Cunningham join Deputy Mayor and Trustee Dorothy DeMarco and Trustee Patrick Nelson.
