The Newland-Wood Fire Company of the Stillwater Fire Department recently won two trophies while attending the 2015 Hudson Valley Volunteer Firemen’s Association Convention.

Categories won by the department included:

• 1st Place Best Firematic Theme (1871 Button Steamer in Mardi Gras)
• 1st Place Best Appearing Fire Unit Dress Uniform 8 to 13 in Line of March

The Hudson Valley Volunteer Firemen’s Association consists of dozens of departments from the Tappan Zee Bridge to Essex County. This year’s convention was hosted by the Lake George Fire Department.
