Trustees pass $1.57 million budget for 2021-22 with no tax increase

The Stillwater Board of Trustees has unanimously approved a $1.57 million village budget for the 2021-22 fiscal year, which carries no property tax increase from the current year.

The village property tax rate will remain at $4.10 per $1,000 of assessed value in 2021-22.

The budget vote March 16 followed a public hearing in which no one commented on the proposed spending plan. The new budget will go into effect on June 1.

The newly-approved budget for 2021-22 totals $1,576,160 and breaks down as follows:

  • General Fund: $863,910 – up $11,710 from 2020-21
  • Water Fund: $340,850 – up $4,450 from 2020-21
  • Sewer Fund: $371,400 – up $10,500 from 2020-21
  • Total Budget: $1,576,160 – up $26,660 or 1.7 percent from 2020-21
