New village water system

We take many things for granted in our day-to-day lives like grabbing a clean drinking glass from the cabinet, stepping to the sink and filling that glass with some nice cold water.

The Village has been working on a long term solution to make sure residents have peace of mind when they turn on the faucet.

Connecting to SWCA

Hooking up to the Saratoga County Water Authority (SCWA) emerged as the most cost-effective option. The Water Authority pulls its water from the Hudson River through its Moreau treatment plant.

In January 2012, the Village completed a pipeline connection to its distribution system at the county line near Cordero Boulevard and the Luther Forest Technology Campus. The Village will continue using its own water treatment plant through mid-February while it completes improvements to two water tanks. When the tanks come online, the Village will rely solely on the Saratoga County Water Authority and the Village’s existing treatment plant will be shut down. Residents may experience varying color, taste and odor during this period.
