Stillwater resident Timothy Campbell has been appointed Village Trustee to fill a vacancy on the board left by the recent resignation of Keith Collins. The appointment was made in August by Mayor Earnest Martin. Collins, who was reelected to a new four-year term in March, has moved from Stillwater and no longer can serve on the board.
Campbell Bio
Timothy Campbell was appointed to the Board of Trustees in August, 2013, following the resignation of Keith Collins. He is a third generation village resident, a graduate of Stillwater High School, and a retiree of the former General Electric Silicones plant in Waterford where he worked for 37 years as a heavy industrial mechanic. He was also a member of the village Zoning Board of Appeals for four years. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a B-52 Crew Chief.
Campbell and his cousin are best known in the village as the “Zamboni Brothers” for running and maintaining the village ice skating rink each winter. He also works closely with the village and town historians assisting with computer and technical programs, and he is a frequent photographer for Stillwater Blockhouse events. Two years ago he was part of the team that helped plan and launch this village website in 2012. He has three children, five grand children and one great grand child.
His mission on the board, he says, is “more open government, helping improve relations with the general public, and trying to give back to taxpayers with programs for children (and adults) such as the ice rink and improvements to village parks and recreation.”
