The Stillwater Fire Department celebrated its 150th anniversary with a community birthday bash like no other! The event was held on Saturday, September 26th, kicking off with a parade and ending with fireworks. The parade stretched along Hudson Avenue from the Stillwater School grounds to the American Legion Post No. 490 field, where participation plaques were handed out. The parade was followed by daylong field activities, food sales, children’s rides, music and other events. Special proclamations were presented to the fire department and Chief Jeff Mahar by New York Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner and Village Mayor Rick Nelson.
