Stillwater gathers for 11th annual 9/11 ceremony

The Stillwater Blockhouse was the scene of the 11th annual commemoration ceremony to remember the victims of the 9/11 bombing of the World Trade Center in 2001. Joining the friends and family of Dani Moore Tatum, who gather each year to mourn her loss on that tragic day, were members of the Stillwater American Legion Post 490, the Hoosic Valley Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Boy Scout Troop No. 35, and village and town dignitaries. Flowers, donated by the parents of Waleed Ishkar who also died that day, were laid at the Tatum memorial in Blockhouse park. Two Stillwater Central School students, Eric Powers and Will Reicherd, played taps under the direction of music instructor Jim Iacketta. Stillwater Police Chief Dennis Latham led the gathering in a rendition of God Bless America. Stillwater Will NEVER forget!
