The Village of Stillwater hosted its unaugural Fall Festival on Saturday, October 27. Visitors strolled along Hudson Avenue to learn more about local non-profit groups, sample a variety of food offering, donate to the local food pantry or stop by the Blockhouse and vote for their favorite scarecrow. The Newland-Wood Fire Department was the scene of a haunted house, the American Legion Post 490 held a chicken barbecue, the police department sponsored a scavenger hunt, and The Stillwater Area Community Center hosted a variety of children’s games and activities throughout the day, highlighted by a Halloween costume contest and parade through the village. Other participants included the Stillwater Central School PTA, the United Church, Friends of the Stillwater Free Library, Stillwater Players, Mechanicville-Stillwater Rotary Club, Glen Hollow Park, Blockhouse Museum, Boy Scouts, Grey Hound Rescue, Educational Foundation, the American Legion Post 1644 Sons, Riders and Auxiliary, and the Stillwater Family Day Committee.
