The Village of Stillwater hosted its third annual Winter Fest 2014 on Feb. 16. The event continues to grow. This year’s festivities included outdoor events such as ice skating and ice hockey at the village ice rink, downhill sledding, cross country skiing, music, food and more. A fire pit kept everybody warm and toasted perfect marshmellows. U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko even stopped by to greet Winter Fest-goers joining Village Trustees Ellen Vomacka, Judy Wood-Shaw and Tim “Zamboni Brother” Campbell., and Deputy Village Clerk Anne Marie Hallum. Inside, The Stillwater Area Community Center hosted games and activities as well as an educational planetarium for children. The American Legion Post 490 held its annual chili cookoff with many residents submitting their favorite recipes. It was an old fashioned family festival and very well attended. We can’t wait for next year!
