Judith Wood-Shaw is not seeking re-election as Mayor

Two incumbents are running unopposed for Stillwater village office on Tuesday, Nov. 7 while two others are not seeking re-election this year after long careers serving village residents.

Current Trustee and Deputy Mayor Judith Wood-Zeno is running for a four-year term as village Mayor replacing Judith Wood-Shaw, who has decided not to seek another term.

Wood-Shaw was elected the village’s first female Mayor in 2018. Before that she was a village Trustee. Wood-Zeno has served as village Trustee since 2017.

Also on the Nov. 7 ballot is Patrick Nelson, who is seeking his second, four-year term as village Trustee. He has served as village Trustee since 2019.

John Basile is not seeking re-election as Trustee

A third seat held by long time Trustee John Basile is also up for election this year but will remain vacant for the time being. Basile is not seeking re-election after serving many years on the Village Board. No one else has stepped forward to run for his seat. All new terms begin on December 4, 2023.

Polls will be open for voting on Tuesday, November 7 at Stillwater Town Hall, 881 Hudson Ave., from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
